The mining camp

The Coolgardie mining area is five hours drive from the Laverton mining area, and the two mining areas shoulder the intense exploration task simultaneously for the company's current work. We got to the important ore exploration areas and the original mining points of the two mining areas in turn, and lived in the mining camp, experiencing the mining life here personally.
During the daytime in the mining area, there is the rare blue sky, endless low plants at the foot and fresh air attracting people to enjoy more. Even a casual shot could produce a professional photography blockbuster in this beautiful scene.
We can feel nothing except the silence at the mining area, and the liveliest “partner“ accompanying the field staffs is a group of flies. In this desolate mining area, countless flies will come as long as human appear, and we really felt the passion of them. Focus colleagues laughed and said, “How long have these flies not seen so many 'living creatures', not to mention our arrival allowed them to change their taste, which made them so exciting!“
The Coolgardie mining camp is a bungalow rented by the company in a nearby small town, where the field staffs shift in and out with household appliances for daily use. The Laverton mining camp is also located in the small town. It is undertook by a company specializing in mining camp and operated in the management model of hotel. It is the gathering place for camps of a number of mining companies in the vicinity. The camp rooms are constructed with simple containers and plate houses. Each container has several facilities such as a single bed, desk, wardrobe, air conditioning, shower and toilet. The so-called “Small town“ here is different from our Chinese bustling town because we can see nothing except bushes on the way to the mining areas.
It was 6 o'clock in the afternoon when we arrived at the Laverton mining area, and we encountered Focus employees who had just finished their jobs. Through their simple introduction, we knew that the daily life for those employees working here all the year round is extremely simple—work and life between the mining area and camp; staying in the fields during the day and going back to the camp in the evening. In order to ease the boredom and enrich the miners' life, the camp is equipped with simple fitness and leisure facilities. The young James told us that after a day's work, he returns to the camp and prepares to go to sleep at 7 o'clock every night.

Getting used to the busy and bustling life, we were amazed at the starry sky and flying fireflies in the camp, and highly convinced of Chairman Chen Yumin's evaluation “Green hills and blue waters along with loneliness“. In the world's most lonely city, everyone working here should be accustomed to the simple and even “lonely“ mining life while enjoying the beautiful scenery.
